On the evening of Friday 26th June the club dipped its collective toes into the world of virtual inter club competitions. A competition with Lancaster Photographic Society was arranged via Zoom with our judge Bob Givens judging from his home ( or wherever the Starship Enterprise was at the time ) in Northern Ireland.

Each club submitted 30 images with no more than 2 images from any one member. On the night a total of 36 members from the two clubs logged on and were treated to a judging tour de force from Bob of a varied selection of high quality images. There were 6 images which scored 20 points:

The Northern Counties Photographic Federation Annuals Competition was this year limited to digital images due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. KPS was again successful in winning the Myles Audas Memorial Trophy for the best club entry of projected digital images. Two members were successful in the Open Section Awards. Alan Walker won the Bryan Gilbert Trophy for Best Portrait with “The Look”

 

and Tony Marsh won the Vickers Trophy for Best Natural History with “Heron with Viperine Water Snake”.

 

In addition several members had images which were highly commended. Carol Minks, Sue Rugg, Alan Walker, David Woodthorpe, Ronnie Gilbert, Julie Walker, Keith Snell, Tony Marsh, Marilyn Woodthorpe and Philip Cartwright.
