Edinburgh International Print Exhibition, 2023

The Edinburgh International Print Exhibition is an extremely prestigious competition founded in 1861. It is judged prior to the Edinburgh Festival and the winning images exhibited during the Festival.

The percentage of submitted images which are accepted for the exhibition is vanishingly small. It is indeed remarkable and possibly unique that our wife and husband team, Julie and Alan Walker each achieved a Gold Medal in the exhibition this year.

Julie for ‘Bison Foraging in the Snow’ which won the PSA Gold Medal

and Alan for ‘He loves me, He loves me not’ which won the GPU Gold Medal

Many, many congratulations to both who are seen below receiving their medals from the chair of the exhibition

 

NCPF Annual Results 2023

This is the first of a series of posts celebrating our club and members’ successes in various national and international competitions over the past 12 months. The Nothern Counties Photographic Federation Annual Competition is the main competitive event organised by the Federation for clubs across the North East of England and Cumbria. Twenty nine clubs entered the 2023 Annual Competition. Keswick PS and its members were successful in a number of the categories:

We won the Corder Trophy for the best club entry of Monochrome Prints.            We were second in the Bewick Trophy for the best club entry of Colour Prints.   We won the Myles Audas Memorial Trophy for the best club entry of Projected Digital Images.

Individual awards for members were ‘Storm Over The Mountain Cabins’ by Alan Walker which won overall best photograph in all sections and best colour print:

‘Taking in the Sea Air’ by Julie Walker which won Best Creative Print

 

‘Disapproval’ by Alan Walker which won Best Human Portrait Mono Print

 

‘Beaten’ by Bob Given which was the Best Sport PDI Image

 

and ‘The Modest Smile’ by Alan Walker which was the Best Human Portrait
