PAGB Nature Photographer of the Year

Club member Alan Walker has been named the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain ‘Nature Photographer of the Year 2026’, receiving the cup at the National PAGB Print Championships on Saturday 24th October.

The award follows Alan’s Gold Medal in the PAGB Nature Trophy earlier in the year, making it a particularly memorable year for his nature photography.

The winning photograph, ‘The Leader of the Pack’, was taken during a winter trip to Montana and captures three wolves interacting with one another. As is often the case with wildlife photography, a fair bit of patience — and a little good fortune — came together at just the right moment.

The image has enjoyed further success, being selected for the prestigious 2026 Masters of Print exhibition, where only 50 images are chosen from hundreds of entries.

Alan has been a member of Keswick Photographic Society for many years and has enjoyed success across several areas of photography, with nature being a particular passion. Huge congratulations to Alan on his award, which is very well deserved.
